Princeton Research Project Explores Past Ties to Slavery
The Princeton & Slavery Project has released the findings on a public website. The online materials include over 80 articles, video documentaries, interactive maps and several hundred primary source documents. Four days of panels, discussions, performances and other presentations related to the project, including a distinguished academic symposium, are scheduled for Nov. 16-19. The symposium’s keynote speaker will be Nobel laureate Toni Morrison, and other featured speakers will include Ruth Simmons (formerly of Brown University and currently at Prairie View A&M University), Leslie Harris (Northwestern University), Eric Foner (Columbia University) and Danielle Allen (Harvard University).
