A Slave Auction, Slave-Owning Presidents: Princeton University Unveils a Dark Past
A few years after protesters at Princeton University asked the school to sever ties with former United States and university president Woodrow Wilson, the school has released a years-long project on the history of slavery within the institution.
Researchers made two major discoveries, the project summarizes–that the first nine presidents of the institution owned slaves, and that a slave sale was held on campus after the university's fifth president, Samuel Finley, died.
