Princeton & Slavery Exhibit, Princeton Public Library

Dates: October 17 – December 15, 2017
Location: Princeton Public Library

Discover more about Princeton’s ties to slavery by visiting the Princeton & Slavery Library Exhibit. Drawing on historical documents from the Princeton University Archives and the Historical Society of Princeton archives, the exhibit illuminates both the town and gown’s connection to slavery as researched in the four-year long Princeton & Slavery project. The exhibition reveals how deeply ingrained the practice of slavery was throughout the community well into the 19th century.  Exhibit will be open to the public any time the library is open and a program is not taking place.
